Wilson Joseph of Pottersville has been remanded into custody at the Dominica State prison after being charged with six counts of arson.
Police Chief Lincoln Corbette made the disclosure during a press conference earlier today.
According to him, the accused appeared before a Roseau court earlier today, and the police objected to bail.
Reports from Chief Corbette suggest that, at about 3:20 AM on May 6, 2026, police were alerted to a fire on Upper Lane in Roseau that started at Jane’s Cuisine and spread very quickly to other buildings.”
Corbette further reported that several other buildings were affected by the fire.
“The assessment of the damages are ongoing,” he revealed.
Joseph’s matter will be up for review in October 2026.
Two things;
1. I hope the police have the right perpetrator. If so, the full extent of the law should be administered.against him.
2.I hope this case does not languish in the court for years. Delayed justice is a denial of justice.However, speedy justice must not sacrifice accuracy.
I flat out do not believe anything that Skerrit and his police says because they have been involved in producing too many movies together.
Concerning the person charged with 6 counts of Arson, I wish I could see those charges. Secondly, if Wilson Joseph is truly, legally and sincerely charged, then I will conclude that he is no longer a laborite because in this corrupt system we know that is only opposition members and their friends and supporters are charged even for minor issues like walking on Wednesday while alleged murderers supporting the corrupt system will get away with wilful murder and even get a clean title to serve on village council, town council, urban council or Kalinago council. Boy, I am painted deep deep red but this time the police chief has me baffled and with a lot of questions.
1. Mr Corbette is the same person that told us how Mahul Choksi was found walking on a beach in the Possie area, then whoever made him police chief knows well that people will not believe anything he says.
2. Going by how policing works these days under PM Skerrit and the police department, we already know if this guy is really the culprit and is charged then we know the system already has layers and judges working for them to ensure they corrupt the investigation. Boy in this system I have seen several criminals walk free because of technicality.
3. I have never seen teammates playing for both teams in the same game. Yes I know players are paid to sell games but later they are charged. All the above players mentioned in this article are all playing for the same team and captained by same captain.
