The Dominica Chess Federation is pleased to announce the launch of new weekly chess meetups in Portsmouth, specifically designed to serve players from the northern parts of the island. These gatherings aim to bring enthusiasts together to connect, play, and grow—further strengthening the island’s chess community.
Following the success of regular meetups in Roseau, held at the University of the West Indies (UWI) campus, this new initiative will extend similar opportunities to players in the north of Dominica.
The Federation encourages residents in and around Portsmouth to get involved. To help establish the most suitable time and venue for the meetups, the Federation invites local chess players to express their interest by submitting their contact details via the online form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeX5kD2JJnXIZkYiQaeDwEJ1jb9O-ZZR7FRJS8nWDO20D1fVg/viewform
The new meetups are part of broader efforts to strengthen Dominica’s national chess community and promote regular engagement across the island.
