The Private Sector Foundation for Health (PSFH) is set to host its annual Mother’s Day Soirée on Saturday, May 11, 2025, in Roseau, Dominica. The organization shared that the event aims to combine celebration with fundraising efforts to support urgent medical care needs within the community.
This year’s Soirée emphasizes a particular focus on providing financial assistance to individuals facing serious health challenges, stated the press release. Specifically, the event seeks to raise funds for two patients requiring critical medical procedures: one in need of a total hip replacement and another requiring three eye surgeries. PSFH explained that without prompt financial support, these individuals risk experiencing prolonged pain, diminished quality of life, and potential irreversible health complications.
Suzanne Piper, Chairwoman of the Foundation, remarked, “Access to health care should never depend on income level. This event is about ensuring that no one in our community is left behind when they need help the most,”
The event, themed “Mothers: The Heart of Healing,” will also serve as a tribute to mothers and caregivers, recognizing their strength and compassion. It aims to align these qualities with the Foundation’s broader goal of delivering hope and healthcare to those in need.
Attendees can expect an evening featuring both silent and live auctions, engaging games, entertainment, and fine dining. Performers scheduled to appear include the Sisserou Singers, Tasha & Peter, Mandy Lawrence, and Kimani the Jazzman. The event will also include surprises and opportunities for guests to make meaningful contributions.
The Foundation emphasizes that proceeds from the soirée will be directed toward covering the costs associated with surgeries, recovery, and follow-up care for the patients in need.
Funds raised will have a direct impact on improving the health and well-being of individuals facing urgent medical challenges in Dominica, concluded the statement.
