
Faith St. Ville who goes by the stage name “Queen Melody” was crowned the new Calypso Junior Monarch and Shervez Seaman performing as “Moxie Shervey” won the junior Bouyon Monarch.
St. Ville, who represented the Dominica Grammar School (DGS), moved the crowd with her song entitled “Speak Life” which was written by Bouyon Artist Gael “Trilla G” Jno Baptiste.
She was among 10 young artists who performed at the competition which was held at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium Forecourt on Friday evening.
Tyce “Mighty T” Faustin who represented the St Mary’s Academy (SMA) copped the 1st runner-up position. He sang “Jump like Thea”, a song written by Ian Jackson. Last year he clinched the Junior Calypso Monarch title.
The 2nd runner-up position went to Malik “De Reverend” Ferrol who represented the Paix Bouche Primary School, with a song entitled “The Sermon” written by Mickael Ferrol.
Mia “Da Rice” Didier ,of the Portsmouth Secondary School (PSS), secured the 3rd runner-up spot. Her song was entitled “Eye Infection” and written by Calypsonian Deryck “Hunter” St Rose.
The 4th runner-up position went to Allysa “Allysa” Louisy, who represented the Goodwill Secondary School (GSS).
She sang “A Time for Everything” written by Ian Jackson.
In the Bouyon segment, Portsmouth Secondary School (PSS) student Shervez ‘‘Moxey Shervey’ Seaman nabbed the Junior Bouyon Monarch title.
She delivered an exceptional performance with her song ‘Elevate’ written by Makana Victor.
The second place went to Josiah ‘King Zaih’ Fagan of the Goodwill Secondary School with a song entitled ‘Bouyon School’ written by Derick RAH Peters, while Pierre Charles Secondary School student Dalicia ‘Onyx’ Cuffy placed third. She sang ‘BARZOUDI’.
The show was organized by the Leo Club of Dominica.
