The RayAsta Foundation has announced that it is initiating a health education drive focused on informing students, teachers, and parents about the risks associated with strokes, their early warning indicators, and the critical need for prompt action.
As per a release from the organization, the goal of this program is to increase awareness within school communities, enabling the Dominican population to identify stroke symptoms swiftly and respond effectively to save lives.
The campaign will feature engaging presentations in schools, emphasizing:
• Recognizing common stroke signs and symptoms
• Understanding risk factors and prevention methods
• Appropriate steps to take during an emergency
• The crucial importance of seeking immediate medical care
Organizers say that these sessions will be scheduled during regular school hours, such as homeroom or assemblies. The RayAsta team will collaborate with Jael Joseph, Dr. Shane Mc Intyre, and Dr. Gael Thomas to deliver the information, combining educational content with practical advice.
“Our goal is to ensure that students and educators understand that stroke can happen to anyone and that recognizing the signs early can save lives,” stated campaign coordinator Cecilia St. Hilaire. “Awareness is the first step to prevention.”
The RayAsta Stroke Awareness School Campaign is set to launch in participating schools starting Monday, January 12, 2026.
