So if the contractors knew that this accident was inevitable, why did they continue with the work? This does not make any sense. So now there is more work to be done and more money to be paid to them. Who are the contractor/contractors by the way?

That problem has been there well before Maria. Why does it take so long to fix these things. It can not be money because our PM awash with money. Maybe he should spend more on infrastructure rather than entertainment, serenading himself.

O yeah! An “International Airport” will sure solved this problem. Because passengers will be able to fly from Melville Hall Airport to the capital Roseau. Or they will enjoy the hike.

International airport is just a talking point. We’ll never see it happen in a Thousand years.

I did a Google search on Cassani Laville. From the way he addressed the issue, it is clear he had a good understanding of the issue. That being the case, can Skerrit pay the other ministers to say home (as he did with Melissa) and get competent people to run the various other ministries?

I really hope this minister does a drive-around DA to familiarize himself with the road conditions and get the funds repair them. Dominica does not have a major road network. It should not cost too much to repair them.

:?: From who I see, this man seems very young :?: Maybe he’s able to articulate what was delivered to him, but is he experienced enough and has the know-how to get things done :?: The one-man corrupt rogue regime have been building/restructuring roads like putting an adhesive band-aid on a sore! For the young man to blatantly admit that this was something in the waiting to happen is an indictment on those involved with the construction of the road, they should be made to pay!!! If the one-man corrupt rogue regime does not have the expertise to deal with the situation, they should have brought in professionals to address it!!! With this new oversized cabinot of inexperienced unqualified ministers it’s a disaster in the making!!!

Thank you Hon. Laville on a commendable explanation of the situation. Will the government be seeking a refund from this “previous” contractor for using the people’s funds on a project even if (as you said @ 1:30) “It was a collapse that was expected…”?

Antrim, bottom of backroad (Goodwill/Bath Estate), Fond Canie, under the Canefield cliff. these are just 4 roads i travel across regularly that have been disasters waiting to happen for the past 5-7 years. The DLP has soooooo much money, yet the country’s development and constant maintenance and enhancement is has never been a priority. Only when disaster strikes they does like to show their face and play like they serious and all of a sudden people’s lives are important. To hell with all you. continue doing what you all want with th country until you cannot do again. make majee like it going out of style. This week they bringing down another international foreign artist (Busy Signal) to pay him another couple 100,000’s. then we saying the country doesn’t have money to fix anything. HOW CAN THE DLP HAVE MORE MONEY THAN THE NATIONAL TREASURY? AND IF SO, SOMETHNG IS WRONG WITH THE COUNTRY.

Garçon, you do not know then by now that public entertainment by expensive foreign artists have priority and that Windsor park stadium was not built for sports but PM rallies paid for by public money.

My question is simply this, who did you vote for?
Not a single Dominican should complain about any type of situation in Dominica, good or bad as long as Roosevelt Skerrit is king.
People usually get what they deserve. Labor is what you want, that’s what they get.
For the next five years you’ll not see anything significant change in the country. Roosevelt had twenty years to take Dominica to his next level, all he produced is poverty, and in process mesmerized the minds of the idiots with music.
Can anyone be angry when the rest of the world complain that Dominicans are the stupidest people on the planet?
Unless a revolution takes place and somebody takes Roosevelt out, he be an obstacle in Dominica forver.

You can see that this Minister was well briefed and he is able to articulate that which was explained to him in the briefing. I note that he addressed the all round effect and what they are doing about it.

I hope this is indicative of all the other appointed ministers and how they intend to address issues that may confront their ministries.

Quite frankly, he started on a very encouraging footing.
I hope all other outstanding matters, including governance issues are handled head-on in that manner.

    Success to you.

I am very impressed with Mr. Laville’s communication skills. Very eloquent. Let’s hope he can do much more to improve the nation’s infrastructure.

I am impressed with Mr Laville’s understanding of the situation and his commitment to find solutions.

The continuous rain over the last week has triggered renewed land slippage at Antrim. This is noticeable at two places along the road surface and on the land between the road and the river.

I alerted the Ministry earlier this week and I have been assured that they will monitor the situation.

Had Mr Laville been on the job nine years ago he would doubtless have advised against dumping million of tons of spoil from Red Gully on sensitive land at Antrim, thus blocking the deep underground water courses and creating a virtually unsolvable problem.

Incompetence and failures will always plague this corrupt oligarchy. . A government is as strong as the people it is made up of. The makeup of this government tells me that Dominica is bound to stay at floor height.

Circus Clown, the inconvenient truth hurts but it is not a sin. The country is plagued with all sorts of negative occurrences and maladies solely due to the ineptitude of a severely dishonest and corrupt government. They know how to steal elections very, very well but CANNOT govern. Proof of this: take a thorough look at the country’s anemic economy and its current prehistoric state of development. Which forward looking country in this era of modernity is without proper and modern air and sea ports, an adequate network of roads, a livable wage for its citizens and residents? Let your conscience, if you still have one, be your guide. Truth is a very stubborn thing.

I am just wondering what is really wrong with those people? Here we have the whole lists of comments building up the young man. But by all means that he/she, must right a nasty comment. And some of them have the nerves to speak about God in their dirtiness.

It’s simply a manifestation of pain. This guy is one of those who was convince, by Alex Bruno, that the UWP was going to win the elections and he got the shock of his life. So this is how he is trying to make himself feel better. That’s just his therapy in his delusional mind.

Dog Biter, can you honestly swear on the bible that my statements are without merit? Let me repeat a few of them. Mr. Skerrit is a corrupt liar. Al Jazeera has the goods on him. His wife does not possess the required intellectual acumen to be an effective parliamentarian. The electoral system, as it is presently, is a fishnet of loopholes for corruption. The Skerrit-DLP led Administration has the country tethering on near economic collapse. Dominica is steadfastly at the bottom in the Eastern Caribbean in all positive indices with no hope of getting out soon. Dog Man, attack the message and leave the messenger alone. I have a thick skin so your senseless aspersions do not bother me in the lease. They are just a reflection of your warped, underdeveloped brain. In fact they run off my hide like water runs off a duck’s back. I often get plenty fun from your bad grammar, misspelling and your poor sentence construction. Send some more humor my way.
