The San Sauveur Primary School was transformed into a lively hub of color, music, and creativity on Friday, February 13, as students, teachers, parents, and community members came together to celebrate the annual “Come As You Like” event.
Traditionally held on the last Friday before Carnival, the celebration invites participants to dress in imaginative and playful attire. This year, the school added a special twist with Funny Socks Day, encouraging everyone to design and showcase their own quirky socks as part of the festivities.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Parent Teacher Association and the village communities of Good Hope, Petite Soufriere, and San Sauveur, who joined forces to rekindle the Carnival spirit. The day featured the vibrant sounds of drums, shantay mas, food, and laughter, creating an atmosphere that spilled beyond the school grounds into the streets of San Sauveur.
“Come As You Like” has become more than just a dress-up occasion. It is a cherished tradition that fosters creativity, strengthens community bonds, and builds excitement in the lead-up to Carnival. The celebration offered students and families alike a chance to express themselves freely while enjoying a day filled with joy, music, and cultural pride.
The school expressed gratitude to all who supported and participated, noting that while San Sauveur Primary has a small student population, its reach and impact extend widely across the community. Organizers encouraged continued collaboration and support for future activities, inviting the public to follow the school’s Facebook page for updates and highlights.

What a joyful and creative way to bring the community together! Events like this really show the heart of a school. The Funny Socks Day twist sounds especially fun, and it’s great to see the Carnival spirit being passed on to the students.
