With the recent election of its executive board, the Scott’s Head Reunion and Enhancement Committee has officially established itself as an independent entity. A press release outlined the Committee’s primary aim as an ambitious one, namely, transforming Scott’s Head into an exceptional place for living, vacationing, visiting, and working, while giving “residents renewed hope for a better life.”

Its leadership team is geographically diverse, with members based in the United Kingdom, United States, Virgin Islands, and Dominica. The executive lineup includes President Jeff Bellot, Vice President Cheryl Adams, Secretary Deborah Destouches, Treasurer Celia Tavernier, Public Relations Officer Ivan ‘Ivoo’ Nicholas, Assistant Secretary Treasurer Michael Junny Nicholas, alongside other key members Joanne Bleau, Selwin John Lewis, Julius Brown, and Heather Nicholas Jervier.

On the heels of what it says was a highly successful pilot reunion held in June 2025, the committee is now preparing for a broader Parish of St. Mark Reunion scheduled for 2027. This event will encompass Soufriere, Scott’s Head, Gallion, and Petit Bagatelle, with collaboration from all relevant stakeholders.

In the immediate future, the committee indicated that it is set to host a Christmas Village from December 20, 2025, to January 2, 2026.  A variety of activities have been outlined, including nightly displays of holiday lights from 6 PM until midnight, a dominoes knockout tournament, bingo and ten-night games, nostalgic Christmas games, movie nights, and Christmas carol performances by various church choirs.

Culminating in a grand raffle on Christmas Day, organizers are offering prizes such as a smart television, stove, blender, professional drill set, and gift vouchers. The event will also include raffles for children, free toys and gifts, snacks, family-friendly games, and live music.

Funds generated from these events will reportedly support vital community projects. Among their priorities, as per the release, are providing every household in Scott’s Head with a secure and safe trash bin to reduce litter and establishing a public restroom in the town center to benefit both residents and visitors. Additionally, the committee is planning a praise and worship gathering for Easter 2026.

“We are seeking funding from any interested individuals or organizations committed to keeping Dominica clean and green as the Nature Isle,” stated the Committee.

The group encourages interested parties to reach out through the committee’s Facebook page, “Scott’s Head,” to offer assistance or learn more about their initiatives.
