The search has been called off for the victims of a plane crash which occurred in the sea off Marigot on Sunday 16th February 2020.
Earlier reports indicated that the French-registered aircraft, which was carrying 4 persons, had taken off at about 6:43 pm from the Douglas-Charles Airport destined for Le Raizet Airport in Guadeloupe.
“Investigations continue into that missing plane; the police have recovered some debris but we have not recovered any bodies,” Police Chief Daniel Carbon said at a news conference recently. “The search has been called off.”
Meantime, carbon said no arrests have been made following a recent shooting incident which occurred in Picard, Portsmouth at 11:00 pm on February 4th 2020, resulting in the death of a Chinese national.
The deceased is Zing Jian Yong, a 49-year-old male residing at Picard, Portsmouth.
“We are investigating that matter. We have pursued every lead that we had intensively. We brought in a number of suspects and interviewed them and investigations continue,” Carbon revealed. “We have not made any arrests or charged anyone for this crime.”
The police chief condemned this incident and called on the general public to provide the police with any information or evidence to help to bring the criminal/criminals to justice.
“We have been getting some tips but we have not yet solved it,” he said. “I have a strong feeling that we might solve this crime, but again the information and evidence are out there…there must be somebody who knows what happened, who did it.”

She was last seen in 2004 but went missing when Skerrit as a junior minister met with Chinese and later we heard of the death of Pierre Charles. Since that time Dominica I, as a poto labor informed people that Dominica was missing. Now I guess she is assumed lost and possibly dead
Five Policemen assigned to the killing of CHINAMAN. His associates and place of abode. Check airport for arrival and departure. CHECK ferry and fisher boat. Then any relatives, time in and time out with behaviour. Does he live here or visitor. If regular he must be missed, if visitor, he escaped.
When do all you people finally understand that Dominica has a Police Force in name only. What we have in reality is a private militia paid for by the treasury but at the sole disposal of the dictator, who is not one little bit concerned about the odd killing here and there or other criminal activities as long as it doesn’t affect him or his cronies personally. Why you folks not asking the chief about the human smuggling that has been going on all these years and the reports of souls lost at sea and the illegal departure of haitians. What actions are being taken to stop the practice. All these folks are robbing the state by not paying departure taxes plus it is illegal. Today we have a TB problem because of negligence from our immigration department and health department putting our citizens and health professionals well being at risk. How then do you expect people to come forward when you are selective in law enforcement and the biggest criminals are the ones running the country. Murder is not the only crime. Bribbery, fraud, and taking what does not belong to you for personal use are also crimes. Killing of a prisoner before due process is also a crime. Commish i don’t think you could solve a kindergarten arithmetic problem much less. We could not properly respond to a 4 passenger plane. What if it was bigger airline. Incompetence!!!!!

I have not heard whether Guadeloupe was called in to help with the search since they would have far more advance equipment to deal with that kind of situation and was not some of them,if not all, French nationals…
I hope they were not depending on you all to do a thorough job..Less they forget many years ago a plane with DA nationals coming from St.Maarten crashed in the heights of Woodford Hill and it took farmers the following day on their way to their gardens to alert the authorities whilst you all were searching in all the wrong places..In this day and age a plane went down off DA and it can’t be found…That’s sad…
