WEATHER (12:00 PM, Aug 27): Showers, possible thunderstorms expected during next 24 hrs; residents in at-risk areas urged to be on alert

A weak tropical wave together with the presence of a trough system can be expected to result in an increase in cloudiness,  shower activity with possible isolated thunderstorms across the area during the next 24 hours. People in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rock are advised to be on alert.

A reduction in dust concentration is expected today. People with respiratory sensitivities are advised to remain alert and take the necessary precautions.

Slight to moderate seas are anticipated during the next 24 hours, with wave heights peaking near 3 feet along the west coast and up to 7 feet along the east coast.

    Every time I hear about inclement weather I shiver when I think about so many residents living in dry weather houses. A damn shame!
