Skerrit issues invitation to DLP rally

In a passionately-worded “call to action” Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has extended an invitation to the community to attend the Labour Party gathering in Dublanc on June 1. In the recent press release, Skerrit emphasized that the upcoming  event is “not just another rally.”

He urged citizens to remain committed to building a stronger, more resilient society, stating, “It is only through unity and shared responsibility that we can achieve meaningful progress.”

However, the DLP leader took the opportunity to hint at what could be termed a defensive stance concerning electoral reform activities and the subsequent occurrences in the political sphere, remarking:

“Now they want to pretend they care more about democracy than the party that brought dignity to every corner of this country?

We started electoral reform. We brought in the international experts. We put money behind the process. We made it happen.

So do not let anyone twist the truth. We are not afraid of reform. We are ready for it. We invited it. But we will not allow confusion and lies to weaken this country or silence the Labour voice.”

In closing, Skerrit’s statement returned to center by underscoring the need for continued collaboration among all sectors to overcome obstacles and ensure sustainable development for the future, and to move forward with unity.
