When there is an issue, particularly about the police, we need to ascertain the credibility of that story. most of the times is not what you know or can say but what you can prove.

    Let commonsense prevail.

From what I’ve seen becoming of that one-man corrupt rogue regime police force, with the way they recruit, it’s the worse of the young men in that Island! A bunch of incompetent lazy have nothing to do recruits becoming police with no clue of the law and can’t read or write properly! Three months training then they become police!!!

Yet again we have these mature adults in DA who believe that the can abuse children in various ways and get away with it. If he is guilty shame on him. He is a man of the law and should know better.
Let us rise up in 2020 and do the right things.

I find this article is very empty. First, it says “A male Special Constable of the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) has been arrested and charged for allegedly kidnapping a 16-year-old girl late in 2019.”Kidnapping a 16 year old girl does not necessarily mean that sex was involved. For example, a man who believes he is the father of a child and was not legally given to given to him, could pick her up and go with her. That would be considered as kidnap but has nothing to do with sex. I know Da is small and judging by the first two comments DNO moderated I guess they know the persons involved and what took place. I know DNO can only publish what the police reported and, since a child is involved names cannot be disclosed at this time but I still feel for the sake of properly reporting the matter, the Media should push the police to tell them the nature of the kidnap so those reading this news article like myself, and do not know the circumstances could be more informed

If he was charged why is his name withheld? In a day and age like today we need to stop shielding these characters. This is why this type of evil will prevail in our society.

ADMIN: Once he has been convicted his name will definitely be published.

So we still have constables? So what did the Independence brought us, nuh? Look parts of the US is trying abolish de police system. They figured dem police are not stopping crimes, but doing the opposite. Well, is long I’ve been thinking about that. The guns manufacturers are the ones profiting from such system. That’s why it’s hard to convict a police because all dem money profiteers are backing them up. The system is complicated to many.

Officers, you are entrusted to uphold the laws of the land. One bad officer can give the force a permanent black eye. Leave these young impressionable female children alone. Learn to control your libido. Ten minutes of pleasure, maybe five, for years behind bars. It doesn’t worth it. Think with your head and not your genitalia.

Let the case go to trial before you convict the man. He may be guilty, but that has not been proven yet.

We are on the 7 January 2020.Late in 2019 and no one reported a 16 year old gone missing. Cannot wait to learn about the event.

This is one of their own. Let’s be reasonable. Do you think the police would have arrested a member of their fraternity if they did not have incontrovertible proof? Come on now, you are just trying to be a smart pair of pants.

By your reasoning, we should skip the court case and send him straight to prison. That is not how it works my friend. There are ample examples of people who have spent the better part of their lives in prison only to be exonerated decades later. Let the man have his day in court.
I will be the first to say string him up if he is found guilty. However, I will hold my peace until then (and so should you).

He has been charged and will certainly get a chance to defend himself in a court of law. This case is not based on circumstantial evidence. There is no speculation. It’s an airtight case. After the judgment you will acquiesce to the fact that the police were spot on all along.

Sometimes they arrest a person for their own safety .Every one is innocent until proven guilty. I am convinced the evidence of the young lady will set him free.

    • January 6, 2020

This statement should be intended for aall adult Males in Dominica especially the nasty politicians( sexual predators) who continues to prey on our young girls and women with impunity. What is good for the goose must and should be good for the gander. Everyone who abuses our young ladies women as well as boys should be made to pay regardless of religious, political, or socioeconomic status.

@ Bad man I see you getting thumbs down for your question but that’s my concern as well because kidnapping does not necessarily means raping or sexual. Kidnapping could mean running away with the girl for reasons outside of sex and could even mean for custodial purposes. Those in Dominica and are familiar with the case would know what he did but those leaving abroad and know nothing about the case are left in the dark. That to me is poor news reporting because if the police did not want us to know what happened then no media house should put it out unless they have the facts. At least tell us what that kidnap charge was for so readers could understand what they reading. Too much he say and they say and yet we know nothing about who say what and who say what
