St. Andrew’s High School aims to honor its rich legacy in Dominica with the upcoming Grand Reunion 2025. Alumni of the school have come together to organize this event, scheduled to take place from July 6 to 12, 2025 in the Commonwealth of Dominica. Following the closure of the school in 2006, numerous attempts were made to arrange a reunion for former students. Now, with the efforts of the St. Andrew’s Reunion Committee, led by Executive Chair Mr. Wilworth “Riggly” Robin, the Grand St. Andrew’s Reunion is set to become a reality.
Established in 1979 in the Londonderry area, St. Andrew’s High School was a response to the educational needs of students from the North and North-East regions of Dominica. These students faced challenges accessing secondary education in existing institutions following the aftermath of Hurricane David. The founding of St. Andrew’s not only provided a platform for learning but also contributed to broader community development.
From 1979 to 2006, St. Andrew’s High School bridged the gap between the past and the future, aspirations and realities. It served as a beacon of spiritual guidance, faith, and progress for its students and the community at large.
The Grand Reunion 2025 seeks to celebrate and preserve the invaluable contributions of St. Andrew’s High School to the educational landscape and societal development of Dominica.
The Methodist Church, a key partner and the esteemed Institution of the 2025 Grand Reunion have teamed up and “responded to the needs and demands of the people.”
“Past students, former staff members, teachers, the Methodist Church, affiliates and well-wishers are expected to participate in the Grand Reunion 2025 which will feature several events. Firstly, a Grand Pre-launch is staged for Sunday July 7, 2024, at 6PM. This event will be carried on ZOOM/FACEBOOK Live and is expected to sensitize members of the immediate St. Andrew’s family ahead of the Public Media Launch.
In the meantime, the reunion committee is appealing to the alumni of St. Andrew’s High to register their interest to attend the Grand Reunion 2025 which is being held under the theme: Our Foundation Our Legacy, by following the St. Andrew’s High School, Dominica FACEBOOK page for details on the links to ZOOM and the Google Form for registration”, says a statement by the committee.
