St Kitts and Nevis PM: Country united with region on humanitarian aid for Cuba, soon to see fruition

Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew of St. Kitts and Nevis, and current Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Chair, has reaffirmed his country’s dedication to regional solidarity regarding assisting Cuba.

During an appearance on Freedom FM’s Issues programme on March 17, he announced that St. Kitts and Nevis will soon make a significant humanitarian contribution to the country, currently under economic blockade by the U.S., joining efforts alongside Dominica and other CARICOM partners in a coordinated regional initiative.

Speaking about the importance of collective action, the Prime Minister emphasized that CARICOM was united in its decision to support Cuba from a humanitarian perspective. “The Cuba matter, I want to say that CARICOM was here, and we took the decision to support Cuba from a humanitarian standpoint,” he stated.

St Kitts and Nevis Information Service indicated that Dr. Drew further revealed that the Federation has already established the necessary framework for this aid in collaboration with regional and international partners.

He shared that preparations are underway for the upcoming contribution. “Working with the Mexicans, we have put the framework in place and St. Kitts… within the next two weeks, will be doing its first major contribution from a humanitarian standpoint, to Cuba,” he explained.

According to the Prime Minister, this initiative underscores St. Kitts and Nevis’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian values, regional cooperation, and mutual support among Caribbean nations.

He also noted that his government maintains strong and ethical partnerships with Cuban professionals working within the Federation. Additionally, he assured that appropriate systems are in place to ensure transparency and adherence to international standards throughout this aid effort.

CARICOM is almost a useless grouping. It is weak, disorganised and teetering on the verge of collapse. A chain is as strong as its weakest link.
It’s heart wrenching to see what is happening to Cuba, a country that has helped us in Caricom for myriad years, to strengthen our intellectual resources, even when it has been under sanction by America.
You all ‘sissies’ are afraid of lambasting America, and its criminal actions,to create instability in Cuba, as it has done in Lybia, Syria, Iraq, Afganistan, etc. Staying ‘moo moo’ will not prevent the inevitable, when a deranged criminal and megalomaniac, an Epstein Files buffoon called Donald Trump is on the loose. Its a token gesture, but its better than nothing.
I am sure the contribution would be much BIGGER, if you all had called upon your citizens to donate at least $1.00 per person to the cause, because the Caribbean people love the friendly people of Cuba.
Much Love to the People of Cuba

CARICOM is as strong as its ‘leaders’. Every one of them, barring none, is corrupt, cowardly and spineless. They
play tough with their political opponents at home but are submissive to an eight year old convicted felon.

This organization has dubbed Haiti, one of its members, and has turned their backs on Cuba a very loyal and dependable friend for many decades.

I, like many others, have lost all confidence in CARICOM to deliver a rewarding life of economic and social stability for the people of the region. All they do is to brig misery and agony a beleaguered people and indulge in fraudulent self enrichment practices.

CARICOM is ALL talk and hardly any action. Talk is often just intention while action yields results.
