A Haitian national who resided in Dominica is now before the court after being accused of entering the US territory illegally.
Reports from The Virgin Island Consortium on Thursday 20, March 2025 said according to documents submitted to the District Court, Carlensky Nivosse arrived at the Cyril E. King airport on Tuesday for his flight from St. Thomas to Charlotte, North Carolina, with a final destination of Pennsylvania.
Furthermore, the reports indicated that he was escorted to secondary inspection by Customs and Border Protection for verification of his legal status. Nivosse, a Haitian national, reportedly admitted to leaving his home country in 2019 for Dominica. After residing there for approximately five years, Nivosse boarded a boat around May 2024 and traveled to St. John, a journey that reportedly cost him $4,500.
“With CBP officers finding no U.S. visa or entry stamp in his Haitian passport, Nivosse was arrested and charged with illegally entering the United States,” the report said. “After appearing before U.S. Magistrate Alan Teague on Wednesday, Nivosse was granted pre-trial release upon the signing of an unsecured bond for $5,000. He must now immediately report to the probation office and abide by their supervision requirements.”
The next court appearance for Nivosse is scheduled for Friday, March 21.
What a travesty, you doh have visa and you want to board plane saying you going meet trump?
This individual left Dominica and has been residing in St.John since May 2024, that’s some 10 months since he left Dominica therefore it’s unfair to say he came from Dominica. He travelled from St.John to St.Thomas. How many years does one have to reside elsewhere before they’re considered as not residing in Dominica? Maybe 10 years???? Ridiculous.
But, what difference does it make?
Fact is he entered US territory illegally, and got caught, from where he originated matters not!
With the mention of Dominica, is an indication that there are people in Dominica deeply involved in smuggling.
If the individual’s point of origin is of no importance, then why the claim he came from Dominica? Something is fishy here and it’s clear as daylight that someone is trying to knock Dominica. Bottom line, the man travelled from St.John to St. Thomas and not from Dominica to St.Thomas. No one is disputing that fact.
Francisco, by the way, smuggling has been occurring for centuries worldwide so don’t pretend that it’s only happening in Dominica.
@Mark
No Mark you are ridiculius. You have been trying to make a very corrupt DLP appear clean, even when you are making the royal fool with yourself. Shameful to see how brainlessness has defined your nonsensicalities.
And how do you know that the Haitian is telling the truth, since there was no stamps on his passport to justify your ignorance?
Why is this story relevant, this headline is intended to communicate something that is not directly expressed. It fits the narrative of the recent travel ban list of countries being considered by the Trump administration, which was latter confirmed that there was no travel ban list which included Dominica. Is this story trying to suggest that somehow this individual travel
to the US was aided with help from Dominica.
