As the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities (DAPD) continues in its quest towards fulfilling its mission of creating opportunities and to the promotion of effective measures whereby Persons with Disabilities can actively and equally participate in their country’s socio-economic development through education, training, rehabilitation and employment, it enters the New year with an even greater resolve and commitment.
As we step into 2026, we proudly renew the pledge first made in 1983: to be the Representative Voice of Persons with Disabilities in Dominica. More than forty years later, this mission continues to inspire us with renewed energy and determination.
The year 2025 began with the launch of another new five-year programme cycle, covering the period January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2029, and already, initiatives in education, skills training, employment, income-generating projects, and community engagement are underway.
In 2026, we will build on this momentum, with special emphasis on local fundraising and the continued growth of National Dollar Day, Wheel a walk a Thon, and Dinner in the Dark as pillars of self-sustainability.
Our progress has been made possible through the resilience of our members and the steadfast support of partners and citizens alike. Together, we have advanced dignity, rights, and opportunities, ensuring that inclusion is not merely a vision but a reality lived each day.
We extend heartfelt thanks to all who supported our work in 2025. Your commitment has been the foundation of our achievements, and we look forward to presenting the outcomes at our next Annual General Meeting.
On behalf of our Membership, Staff, and Board of Directors, we wish every citizen of Dominica a year filled with hope, prosperity, and unity. May 2026 be a time when we strengthen our collective resolve to build a society rooted in inclusivity, equality, and respect for all.
Together, let us continue to amplify the leadership of persons with disabilities, ensuring that Dominica’s future is both inclusive and sustainable.
