STATEMENT: OECS congratulations to Prime Minister Gaston Browne on his fourth re-election

The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission extends warm congratulations to Gaston Browne on his re-election to a fourth consecutive term as Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda.

This milestone reflects continued confidence in his leadership during an increasingly volatile global environment. His tenure has been marked by efforts to strengthen fiscal stability, sustain tourism recovery, and actively engage in international economic diplomacy, demonstrating the pragmatic governance required of small island states.

Prime Minister Browne’s renewed mandate holds significance beyond national borders, particularly as Antigua and Barbuda prepares to assume the Chairmanship of the OECS Authority. His leadership will be instrumental as the OECS advances deeper regional integration, greater self-reliance, and more strategic global engagement.

The OECS Commission reaffirms its commitment to working closely with Prime Minister Browne and his Government to address shared challenges, strengthen cooperation among Member States, and promote a unified regional voice.

The OECS wishes him every success in this new term and looks forward to his leadership in shaping a more secure and integrated future for the region.

William, for your information; when you say “the people of Antigua and Barbuda spoke freely”: one need to remind you that the majority of people on the island of Antigua are Dominicans.
Many of us took refuge there talking along our stupid labor party mentality with us. In my case all my children now American citizens are born in Antigua, I have nice and nephews born there that I don’t know in person, one of my nephew is Kendel Robin, a detective on the Antigua Police force, his father the late Inspector Almor Robin my brother was murdered, gunned down while serving on the same force!
As long as there are as many Dominicans living in Antigua, they will always guarantee a labor party win not only for Gaston, but any body wearing red.
By the time Roosevelt ready to win, he simply pay them to fly back home vote, as soon as they vote he kicks them out!
It is not accurate to say the people of Antigua spoke freely, when we know the native Antiguan’s are out numbered by your people!

Why you sit behind your computer and write such nonsocial
theories of which you have no proof, but your silly imagination
with your partisan political beliefs as the core reason. When last have you been to Antigua. Why such arrogance and concocted nonsense suggesting is not accurate to say the people of Antigua spoke freely, when we know the native Antiguan’s are out numbered by your people, so long.

Your comments are all the same: it matters not to whom you are responding you write the same stupid comments, and ask the same stupid question!
That is an indication your vocabulary is limited.
        Why?
You lack academics; you need to perhaps learn to self educate, since you are now to old to be admitted in kindergarten class in Dominica; if you reside in any State in America you you would have a chance go to school at any age and get what you missed.
I mean any idiot can learn if they have a burning desire to learn.
I am not limited you see!
You need to change your childish rhetoric, your vocabulary is beneath me.

I wonder what is the dimension of the brain of a gutter mouse in comparison to that of a gutter rat?
I wonder which of the duo are more intelligent? In some calculations numbers and equations usually cancel out, and that’s the way the mind of an idiot works!

The Caribbean still like one big slave plantation. we like having masters. The disturbing trend is a reflection of the people not understanding the importance of change in our progress as we move closer to one’s party states. I would not be suprised if the current crop of leaders will change title to Chairman as the ideological forces that have been working the Caribbean for past 25 years is bearing fruits. Just look at the huge embassies and the interference and intermingling with state institutions. Caribbean is experiencing a transformation of democracy with the far east catalysts and thier influence is so deep that our population of black former slaves too busy fighting each other to realize thier power to control thier limited resources is all but gone.

You see, as long as the political system remains as the islands of the Caribbean inherited it from the British, it will be very difficult to experience political change where it pertains to the incompetence of people in government.
The system should be changed to term limit! The former colonial colonies should shift to only two terms: be it two five, or four year term. In such a system no one could make the system their estate!
No one would remain long enough to fleece the country for personal gain, get rich while the greater population remains in poverty! Corruption might not be eradicated, and thought some might still steal government funds, they would be limited to the duration of their tenure.
In that sense a party could return to power at intervals, with different people with different ideas, which could cause the country to move forward! Prime Ministers political ideas usual becoming bankrupt after five or ten years as they continue to place round pegs into square holes!

Why don’t you get out of the pedestal of your EGO, and use your observation. Start with the Country you called home, they have term limits for the President has it ever made the Country better for the lives of the people, especially now. Look at the US Congress, the branch of The Government which create the laws, these members do not have term limits. Look at the Judges at Supreme Court they have no term limits have you questioned those things, where is the consistency.

Term limits are not a safeguard to prevent dictators or corruption. The problem is people do not have knowledge when it comes to electing a government to govern them, the people who are elected must need to understand they are put to serve and protect the people, they are accountable to the people not a select
few. Politicians should be punished harshly for lying and misleading the public trust not by only removing them from office, so long Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque.

Sir the people of Antigua and Barbuda spoke freely.

They voted for the party of their choice; the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP).

Congratulations to Prime Minister Honorable Gaston Brown for your strong leadership and the decisive victory of the ABLP.

The electors vote with their stomachs rather than their brain. Instant gratification of turkey, ham, music and fete is much more important to them than !omg term security.

We now vote for people who abuse, stave and oppress us. The whole world has gone mad. Good is bad and bad is now good. Up is down and down is up. It’s eerie out there!

I quench when I hear such cliché “we still like one big slave plantation” utter trial nonsense. You know the great master of man is within, and we put in the back seat to external institutions with people of titles to govern us and then complain, and the cycle repeats itself. We are given a political system that most people do not understand.

All the fighting and division in Politics religion, race, and Nationality is purposely designed that is how you control people when they busy bickering against each other having no time to stop and think. We the people need to take our power of collective unity and stop giving consent and just believing and being herded like sheep and complaining.
