‘Stories by Children Volume 3’ Book Launch & Family Fun Fair slated for May 31

For several years, the Stories by Children initiative has promoted literacy among young individuals both locally and within the diaspora. The program has successfully published two children’s books: Stories by Children Volume 1 – Family and Volume 2 – When I Grow Up. The Stories by Children Committee shared via press release that the project continues to aim to empower young authors and foster a passion for reading and writing.

The Committee is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of  Stories by Children Volume 3: Mission Mango – A Collection of Short Stories and Prose, scheduled for May 31, 2025. To mark this occasion, organizers will host a Book Launch and Fun Fair from 11 AM to 6 PM at Goodwill Primary School. The event aims to provide an engaging experience for families, featuring activities such as face painting, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts, and various games.

In addition, attendees can enjoy live performances by talented artists, including 2025 Calypso Monarch Joy Stoute, and Sheldon “Shelly” from Signal Band, a prominent Bouyon artist. Visitors can also indulge in a variety of foods and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Admission fees are as follows:
– Children: $5 or free with the donation of a gently used book.
– Adults: $5 contribution.

The organizers said that books collected during the event will be donated to selected schools, aligning with the initiative’s mission to foster a love for reading. Proceeds from the event will support future projects, enabling young writers to continue sharing their creativity.

The committee encourages community members to join in celebrating the talents of young authors and to help inspire the next generation of storytellers.
