Unity Exercise 2024 (UNEX’24) is currently underway, marking a significant collaboration in military and police training. Hosted by Saint Lucia from April 2 to 13, the exercise encompasses both land and sea operations. Co-funded by the Regional Security System (RSS) and the European Union under the RSS 11th EDF Project, UNEX’24 aims to evaluate the application of command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence within the RSS Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF). Furthermore, it seeks to assess the CJTF’s efficacy in coordinating resources for operations countering Transnational Organized Crime (CTOC) and Countering Terrorism (CT).
Participation in UNEX’24 is robust, with over 200 security and police officials from several nations involved. The roster includes representatives from Antigua and Barbuda; Barbados; the Commonwealth of Dominica; Grenada; the Cooperative Republic of Guyana; St. Kitts and Nevis; St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Among the participants are various defense and police forces, emphasizing a unified approach to addressing security challenges in the region.
The exercise unfolds across selected areas in Gros Islet, Castries, and Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia. These locations were meticulously chosen to ensure the simulation of real-life experience while mitigating disruptions to the general public. By avoiding densely populated or heavily trafficked areas, organizers aim to minimize inconveniences while maximizing the effectiveness of the training scenarios.
UNEX’24 will focus on “Strength through unity.”

Haiti may not be a member of the RSS but they are our Caribbean people and need help. All it takes is for the RSS country leaders to agree on deployment and sign the necessary frame work. This is no excuse! FYI, tear gas is not only for riots but also a weapon of war to “flush out” the enemy from their hiding places and also used in confined space as an instrument of torture.

The RSS cannot defend at of the OECS member countries from an invasion of redeem forces. These Caribbean leaders use the RSS on the people they are entrusted to protect when they fall out of favour with the majority of their citizens.
They came to Dominica and teargassed a sleeping community in the unholy hours of the night. They kidnapped a Trinitarian citizen from a hotel in Barbados. But they are too ills equipped and cowardly to assist in quelling the violence that is presently consuming Haiti. Schoolyard bullies they are.
