Attendees at the Eliminations Round of the National Institute of Praise Production (NiPP) Gospel Song Contest Season-3 hailed the event as “one of the best Gospel shows” seen in Dominica in quite some time, with one participant sharing, “I am blessed beyond words.”
A total of ten gifted Gospel musicians have made it to the grand finals of NiPP’s Gospel Song Contest Season 3, which is set to take place on December 7, 2024, at the former Coca-Cola Factory on Valley Road. These finalists were chosen from a competitive group of fifteen during the eagerly awaited Eliminations Round, which occurred on Saturday, October 12, at the King Event Space, situated at the NiPP studio on King George V Street in Roseau. Each performer showcased an original piece in their preferred musical style, with judges evaluating them based on lyrical quality, presentation, vocal clarity, and stage presence.
The artists who will compete in the grand finale are:
• Rennick Toussaint – The Will of My Father
• Kervel Xavier – I’ve Got Something
• Shadrach Ogbonna – Praise Tribute
• Eversley Coliare – So Much You Love Me
• Elisha Rolle – I Thought I Couldn’t Make It Out
• Nickisha Yearwood – Running to You
• Markanna Charles – Blow the Trumpet
• Leon Royer – Believe

In addition, Hendrick Giraudel has been honored as the Director’s Choice with his song ‘You Are My Lord,’ granting him a spot in the grand finals.
Ken Robinson, the CEO of NiPP, congratulated the participants, stating, “It’s unfortunate that only ten of you will make it to the finals, but you are all winners. You did an amazing job and have blessed our patrons immensely tonight.” He expressed his gratitude to the attendees for their support, saying, “I am excited to see Gospel music making a comeback in Dominica.”
Jerry Lloyd, a well-known gospel artist and the Director of Artist Development and Music at NiPP, also praised the remarkable performances of the emerging artists, promising an even more impressive grand finale. “You did exceptionally well. While it might be hard to imagine a better show than tonight, I assure you the grand finals will deliver even higher quality,” he remarked. He also commended the accompanying band, “The Dynamics,” for their exceptional support, saying they did a “Yeoman’s job.”
The Grand Finals will feature special performances by Nyel Grove, the winner of Season 2, Nickisha Yearwood “Change” winner of first installment in 2022, along with four artists from the Eliminations. Additional performances will include Julian “Caribbean Cowboy” Riviere and Jerry Lloyd.
