But de Government can”t take any credit for her success and achievement………..not even a proper athletic training ground ………after 24 years in office…..waiting to hear about it in de not too distant election campaign I guess.

Congratulations. That is a blow for UWP,they are saying congratulation but they do not mean congratulation.Read Just saying post,he is mad,a gold medal with Skerrit as Prime Minister.Lying hypocrite.
@LinClown
Why not compete in the olympics in the field of illiteracy and crass foolishness?
Your clown! You most likely can’t read, thats why you comments have nothing to do with the subject matter.
I hope they don’t try to tax her on it or make her pay an import duty.
Congratulations to Thea Lafond Gadson for bringing home GOLD. This is awesome and certainly tremendous public relations exposure for Dominica.
Again I say Congratulations
Heartfelt congratulations and thanks to Olympic Gold Medalist Thea LaFond Gadson for her extraordinary accomplishment. In an instant, Dominicans the world over were able to coalesce in pride under the green, black, red and yellow while momentarily casting aside all divisiveness of the dreaded red and blue!!!
Congratulations Thea
Your outstanding performance does more good to Dominica then any advertising can ever do!!!
You put your island in the positive spotlight where it belongs
Congratulations again
Yes, the crooks will try to take all the credit for her success, nevertheless if she had not left the island to improve on her God given talent, she would be still be in Dominica running and jumping on asphalt and grass.
Whereas I always knew she was destined for the ultimate and succeed,
I am am over impressed by the St. Lucian young lady who blew away the competition from the rest of the world to take gold given St. it’s first gold medal in Olympic history!
And guess what by the time she won I got a call from someone trying to find out if she is related to the Alfred’s in Dominica ( Grand Bay) Marigot, and Wesley!
All I know is the ancestors of my grandmother, and Lois Grandmother grandmother hales from St. Lucia!
Other than that there actually roots as all West Indian Black originates in Africa among or African ancestors!
This very day my name “Te’le’maque “ (Telemaque), is alive and well in Senegal among the Wolof people (tribe)!
Congratulations Thea👏.
You’ve done yourself proud, your family proud and yes, Dominica is beaming with pride🇩🇲.
In fact pride goes out to ALL our atheletes who respresented the country🇩🇲in Paris. We thank you🙏.
Just imagine how much more could be accomplished if the powers that be would stop talking and promising; and actually support athletics starting with proper facilities.
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS, THEA!
Thea’s achievement is inspirational. Her gold medal is well deserved.
Ditch the damn politics and let’s celebrate with Thea.
Congratulations, young lady!
You made Dominica proud.
@Joey Lloyd
Where is the politics? And who are you anyway to dictate to others what to do? Are you losing your mind?
Heartfelt congratulations to Thea. She has done for Dominica what Roosevelt and his maximum terrible administration could not do for twenty four years, which is, to elevate Dominica’s standing around the world.
Now the dictatorial regime would want to hog the glory for the efforts and determination of Thea and her team for this awe-inspiring victory.
It’s a pity the young people have to migrate to achieve in sports and all other endeavours. The government should take as a teachable moment. If the young people have access to the right facilities and the adequate resources, the sky is the limit.
Don’ you try to take any credit for There’s success at the Olympics Roosevelt. You contributed NOTHING to this most awesome achievement.
Gaboo! Give it a break. You’re making this Roosevelt guy torture you. Let’s celebrate the historic moment brought on by the young lady. This implacable hatred is unhealthy my brother.
Heheheh! “Torture” him, huh? So you are saying that Skerrit has him tourmantayed? Nah, leave him with his obsession. Let him continue.
Your first sentence was sufficient; there is no need for the politics on this occasion.
You have always been shamelessly scared of the truth. Your deceptively bad citizen.
That ahole ldo, cannot make a sensible sentence without bringing his dirty political remarks into it, my life ugly lenny, must be his Daddy.
Congratulations! Awesome! But I am not sure what is meant by she “set a National Record of 15.02 meters in achieving this tremendous milestone”. Is this the distance that she jumped in achieving the gold medal? Because that statement makes no reference to these Olympics games.
“Triple jumper Thea Lafond Gadson, representing Dominica at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, today won the first gold medal for Dominica in the Women’s Triple Jump event. Lafond Gadson set a National Record of 15.02 meters in achieving this tremendous milestone.”
The answer to your question is literally in the exact same paragraph you just quoted. Are you retarded?
“set National Record of 15.02 meters in achieving this tremendous milestone”. What exactly do you think the tremendous milestone she just achieved is?
And what do you mean “Because that statement makes no reference to these Olympics games.”, when this article is literally about the Olympic Games, and it is also mentioned in the very same paragraph you just read & quoted?
Again, are you retarded?
Oh yes, small Islanders have made a statement! We are small but we are a force to be reckoned with! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏 Miss Lafond and Dominicans and congratulations to Miss Alfred and St. Lucians.
Congratulations to her. Well done 👏🏾🎉
Someone with a name such as Alfred done something much more incredible, meaning almost impossible to believe for St. Lucia. On her very first try, and if I am wrong, St. Lucia first ever Olympic event, this lady Alfred took gold for her island!
For a first for an island or country they had her ring a huge bell like church bell which must have echoed in areas of Paris!
I am not taking anything away from our Dominica star success, I know from the first time I saw took and landed in a triple jump event, she was going places’ her recent accomplishment was in her destiny!
It was all destined to happen.
History in the making.Well done. This shows the importance of believing in oneself. She said she believes she could bring home Gold and indeed she has!So proud!!! Happy for St.Lucia as well. Sister Islands making headway!!!
