Health Minister Dr. Irving McIntyre said his ministry has a “line of defense” in place at the airport for any traveler who arrives in Dominica with a fake vaccination certificate.
He was speaking during Prime Minister Roosevelt’s Skerrit Annou Pale talk show last weekend.
In recent times this has been a major challenge for some countries around the world. In April, 2021, it was reported that a woman from Birmingham, Alabama was arrested in the U.S. Virgin Islands for allegedly submitting an altered negative COVID-19 test result to the online travel portal.
It is also reported that scammers are selling Covid-19 vaccination cards online.
“What we have done, we’ve had samples from most of our Caribbean islands so that we have an idea of how their vaccination certificate looks like,” Dr. McIntyre said. “Vaccination cards we see the signature, we see the stamp so we have an idea of what it looks like.”
Dr. McIntyre continued, “We definitely got all of this from the region and even some of them internationally just to see what it looks like, so at least we can compare and contrast and our staff have been fully informed of that and they are aware.”
He mentioned that the airport staff has been educated on identifying fake vaccination certificates.
“That is where the symptomatic and questionable cases come in,” he stated. “If we see a questionable vaccination certification, we do a rapid antigen test…so we have a line of defense for that, that is our plan B…”

look nonsense. What about travellers from all other parts of the world? He have the signatures of the relevant authorities there? Right here in Dominica i can forge a card. I may not travel with it, but i can access all social events with it that might require a vaccine card indicating i took 2 doses.. Once i have an original, i making my copy easy easy. Stamps included. You think the security and promoter at the gate going to care or watch that with magnifying glass? Tell McIntyre, dont compare Dominica to USVI. We not on their level.
Apsolutely Rubbish that Dr. McIntyre! FYI we know that China has the best reputation and history of making FAlSE and FAKE things, including certificates. If you think I am lying just go to any of the Chinese stores on island and see their FAKe version of brands like Nike, Jordan, Air Max, vapor max etc. I know you all know they are fake and if they were in the US, they would be sued for producing a fake versions of top brands.
I personally do not believe Chinese require any vaccine to come to Dominica as we all know that what we required to come home do not apply to Chinese nationals just as what they don’t go through the same Customs and duty oppression that Dominicans go through. Furthermore, if they have to come with a FAKE certificate to come to Dominica no one, No law, no constitution can stop them!

I just find the Health Minister should not go to a political program that’s very partisan to address covid-19, vaccination and fake certificate. It’s time to get pass that election mood and start to think country. People have questions about vaccine and I have not seen any effort by the government or political parties to address that subject, apart from Jollys Pharmacy that had a very educational program on Q95 last month with Dr. Jollys. It was after that program I decided to take the vaccine.
I cannot understand why the government cannot have a good health program on DBS, with the health Minister and other health officials to address the vaccine. In like manner, I listen to Q95 everyday and as I compose this comment I am listening to the workers program. I cannot understand why UWP cannot get some medical experts, here and abroad to deal with the vaccine. These politicians just don’t know how to address pertinent issues that are of serious global concen.

The US will not share its online database with corrupt countries like ours who in turn will definitely share it with our mother country CHINA. That is a no no so its definitely going to hurt some. But on the other hand, what good is there to quarantine someone at all if they are vaccinated? No quarantine for vaccinated people will have the non believers flocking to take the vaccine because they all want to travel and don’t want to quarantine either.
Enough sir, STOP the quarantine money making BS for vaccinated people. Those who will be stepping off the cruise ships will actually be coming from a high risk area (inside the ship) and straight onto our shores. So treat your citizens better than that. You all have collected enough money. Lass volaire Domnichen!
