Tonight’s Monarch of the Tent focused on entertainment value, say organizers

The spotlight is squarely on the reigning Monarch of the Stardom Tent tonight, Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Organizers promise an electric atmosphere as nineteen talented calypso performers compete for the coveted title of Monarch of the Tent.

An audio announcement stated that the evening will kick off with the opening act Observer,  and feature notable contenders such as Abiyah Israel, Reds, JD, Royettte, Tasha P., Trendsetter, Kalfa P., Checker, Son of the Saint, Danian, Meeker, Shadowflow, Mystery, The Web, Mighty D, Bingo, Mighty Umi, and Daddy Chess. Spectators can look forward to a night filled with lively entertainment, spirited rivalry, and captivating performances.

As per the statement, judging will be based on a slightly tailored set of criteria to enhance the festive atmosphere of the tent. Points will be awarded as follows: 30 for lyrics, 30 for melody, 20 for rendition, 10 for presentation, and 10 for crowd response.

Given the unique setting of the tent, organizers stress that the judging process is designed to emphasize entertainment value alongside technical skill; the scoring approach aims to encourage a dynamic and engaging show that resonates with the audience.

They invite all residents and visitors of Dominica to join the festivities tonight at 8:30 PM at the Realm.
