The government of Dominica has announced the appointment of Treneese Hamilton and Stephan Pascal as Sports Ambassadors in honor of their notable accomplishments and contributions to sports.

Starting from September 1, 2025, Treneese Hamilton will assume the role of Sports Ambassador for Dominica. The Office of the Prime Minister stated via press release that as part of her appointment, she will be provided with a housing lot and issued a Diplomatic Passport to support her international travel while representing the nation. Hamilton achieved a historic milestone for Dominica by winning its first-ever Gold Medal at the Junior Pan American Games held in Paraguay, with a record-setting throw of 17.21 meters in the women’s shot put event.

Stephan Pascal, says the government, will take on the position of Youth Sports Ambassador, also beginning September 1, 2025. In addition to his ambassadorial duties, he will receive a monthly stipend aimed at assisting with expenses related to his cricketing career. Pascal made history as the first Dominican to captain a West Indies Cricket Team, leading the West Indies Under-19 squad during the 2024 ICC Youth Cricket World Cup in South Africa.

According to the government, these appointments and their associated benefits are part of this administration’s broader strategy to recognize and support young athletes, fostering their development as role models and providing opportunities for excellence.

The government of Dominica also extended its congratulations to Ms. Hamilton and Mr. Pascal on their remarkable achievements and expressed anticipation of their continued success in their respective fields.

    Stephen Pascal has yet to produce anything significant for the West Indies. Unlike Alick that has multiple hundreds under his belt in U19 tournaments Stephen has failed. His batting needs work, his concentration and desires needs a boost. I think he is caught in the “I,M in so I’m GOOD” BS but your record follow you not just making the team.

    Dat is it!! Way to go, folks. This is a great step in the right direction. I would expect nothing less from my government. As we say….”leadership matters.” It makes the difference!

      @Putin
      So you dont even expect your government to provide the facilities for those athletes. Why can’t they get proper training here?The coaches are quite competent. Do you know the answer? Empty barrel.
      This speaks loudly of your state of mind.
