According to several media outlets, Trinidad has declared a state of emergency following a massacre that took place last night, the massacre has been reported as a revenge shooting that resulted from a previous violent dispute between criminal factions.
The shooting massacre resulted in the death of 5 young men in the area of Prizgar Lands, Lavintille.
The declaration comes in the wake of an unprecedented 622 murders for the country this year.
The president of Trinidad Christine Kangaloo made the declaration on advice of the Prime Minister ,Dr. Keith Rowley, who believed the circumstances met the conditions necessary for a state of emergency as per the Trinidad constitution.
The last state of emergency in Trinidad was declared in an effort to combat the spread of the corona virus in 2021.

Crime and poverty are twin brothers. Most of these Caribbean countries are grossly mismanaged. The standard of living between the politicians in office and the rest of society is as wide as the North Pole is from the South Pole.
Endemic corruption breeds poverty. Poverty breeds crime. Crime decimated the whole of society.
The cure to crime is employment, education, crime prevention strategies, community policing. Only a government of integrity with the aid/efforts of the whole society, working together, will drastically minimise or cure criminality.
