Tropical Shipping, specializing in freight-shipping services to and from the Caribbean and The Bahamas, has been announced as the lead sponsor for the 2024 Regional Tourism Youth Congress, a key event at this year’s Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) State of the Tourism Industry Conference (SOTIC). The congress is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 5, 2024, in the Cayman Islands.
Renamed as the “Tropical Shipping 2024 Regional Tourism Youth Congress,” this partnership highlights the company’s dedication to involving young people in the Caribbean tourism sector.
The collaboration aims to raise awareness and enthusiasm about tourism among the youth in the region. The Youth Congress will bring together students aged 14-17 from 14 CTO member countries and territories. These participants, acting as “Junior Ministers of Tourism,” will explore different aspects of the tourism industry, present their visions for the future of Caribbean tourism, and vie for the title of Regional Tourism Youth Congress winner.
“These young minds represent the future of our region, and we’re excited to join the CTO and play a key role in nurturing their potential,” said Jennifer Nugent-Hill, Director of Governmental and Community Affairs with Tropical Shipping.
Other sponsors of the Congress include Carnival Corporation & plc and Winged Whale Media.
