President Donald Trump announced that the United States conducted a military strike against a vessel believed to be involved in drug trafficking in the southern Caribbean, resulting in the deaths of 11 individuals described by Trump as “narcoterrorists.”
According to a report by BBC, while speaking to journalists in the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump stated that US forces had “shot out” a “drug-carrying boat” near Venezuela.
He emphasized, “A lot of drugs in that boat,” and mentioned being briefed on the operation by General Dan Caine, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Later, Trump posted on his Truth Social platform, stating, “Earlier this morning, on my Orders, US Military Forces conducted a kinetic strike against positively identified Tren de Aragua Narcoterrorists in the SOUTHCOM area of responsibility.” He further claimed, “The strike resulted in 11 terrorists killed in action. No US Forces were harmed in this strike. Please let this serve as notice to anybody even thinking about bringing drugs into the United States of America. BEWARE!”
The post was reportedly accompanied by a grainy aerial video depicting a motorboat speeding over rough waters before it appears to ignite and burn.
Venezuela’s communications minister, Freddy Ñáñez, suggested that the video shared by Trump was created using artificial intelligence however according to the BBC, he did not provide evidence of the claim.
Reuters reported that initial examinations of the footage had not identified any signs of manipulation, though their verification process was ongoing.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also commented on the incident via social media platform X, stating, ” today the US military conducted a lethal strike in the southern Caribbean against a drug vessel which had departed from Venezuela and was being operated by a designated narco-terrorist organisation.”
Venezuela has reportedly responded to the situation with anger, with President Nicolás Maduro calling the operation “the greatest threat that has been seen on our continent in the last 100 years”.

Im all for going after the drug traffickers. Thats a given. However you disrupt one route, another opens up. And why is it that events like this will not deter the drug traffickers? Because we in the United States have an insatiable appetite for dope. It’s a multi-billion dollar business fueled by American consumption.
Our government needs to first succeed in curbing our craving for dope before we can even come close to claiming victory in “the war on drugs.” So I guess since we’re failing badly at this, we need spectacles like this to create the illusion of “a fight against drugs” and detract from the dire situation in both small and big town America.
The fact that THE PRESIDENT is making a big show of blowing up a drug boat is telling. And I find rather disrespectful to our brave men and women who have been fighting this fight for years without any fanfare. Purely out of service. Some of them making the ultimate sacrifice.

And Trump provided zero evidence that those in the boat were “terrorists” who were transporting drugs. In fact, the possibility that a boat of that size is transporting drugs with so many men on board is very unlikely. Drug boats are typically not loaded with humans but bags; maybe 2 or 3 men, not 11.
Anything coming from America must be taken with tonnes of salt. They have a sordid history of fabricating lies, to destroy countries that they dont like.

On August 4th 1964, America attacked it own ship in the Gulf of Tonkin in Vietnam, a false flag, just to enter the Vietnam war. What do you mean no military build up around Mexico? They completely militarized the border between the U.S. and Mexico. SOUTHCOM includes Colombia they basically have a presence in the whole south caribbean sea. Also you do understand that the reason why they were able to do this is because Trump designated all these cartels as terrorist groups right? Executive Order 14157 gives them justification to go after these groups using whatever means necessary. That includes the mexican cartels like the Sinaloa cartel, MS-13 and TdA among others.
That boat was carrying TdA gang members and drugs. Maduro’s government treats these guys like heroes when they deport them back to Venezuela. Considering their relationships with the “colectivos” (paramilitary gangs) I don’t doubt the U.S.’s intelligence that they are wilfully sending these guys north to cause trouble in the U.S. That is TERRORISM by definition.
