Two Dominican agricultural extension officers receive UWI post-grad diplomas in climate resilience

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy expressed congratulations to extension officers  Delroy Williams and Jason Bruno, who have successfully completed their postgraduate Diploma in Climate Resilience in Agriculture Extension.

They were among 48 Dominican students of the University of the West Indies (UWI) Global Campus graduating class of 2025.

A virtual ceremony was held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, which featured a total of 1,264 graduates.

“This achievement reflects your dedication to strengthening climate-smart agricultural practices and enhancing resilience among our farming communities,” the Ministry of Agriculture said through a message on Facebook. “Your newly acquired skills and knowledge will play a vital role in supporting farmers to adapt to climate change, improve productivity, and ensure sustainable food systems.”

The message continued, “We commend your commitment to professional growth and service to the nation’s agricultural development. Well done, and we look forward to the positive impact of your work in the field. Congratulations once again!”

The graduation ceremony was held under the theme: “Pelicans in an AI-Driven Future.”

Here’s another perspective: Those who have achieved can create opportunities for them and for others to thrive instead of waiting on someone else to create for them so that they can eat. Ever considered this possibility? Why did they seek to achieve then, if only to remain enslaved to an unknown master?
