According to an OECS media release, these informational gatherings build on the success of recent engagements in Grenada and Saint Lucia, where MSME entrepreneurs in fisheries, marine tourism, and waste management sectors received valuable insights on securing grant funding and technical assistance through the Regional MSME Matching Grants Programme.
Overview of the Regional MSME Matching Grants Programme
The programme, a key element of UBEC, offers financial aid and capacity development to enterprises within the Blue Economy. Its aim is to enhance competitiveness, foster innovation, and increase climate resilience in targeted sectors.
– Window 1: Offers grants between USD $5,000 and $25,000 to individual MSMEs.
– Window 2: Provides larger grants ranging from USD $100,000 to $150,000 for collaborative value-chain projects involving three or more MSMEs.
Many MSME owners across the region are already experiencing positive changes as they expand their operations, improve efficiencies, and access new markets through this initiative.
The Call for Proposals under Window 1 is set to be officially announced soon. MSMEs engaged in Blue Economy activities in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are strongly encouraged to attend these sessions and start preparing their applications.
