Recently, a district uniform patrol visited San Sauveur Primary School as part of ongoing community engagement efforts.
According to a statement from the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) during the visit, the presence of officers in uniform naturally drew the attention and curiosity of several students.
“Recognizing this as a valuable teaching moment, Acting Corporal Earl George of the Castle Bruce Police Station took the opportunity to engage with the children, reassuring them that the police are here to help and that their safety and well-being remain a top priority,” the statement said.
The statement continued, “The interaction allowed us to underscore the importance of safety while reinforcing the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force’s commitment to protecting and serving our young citizens.”
Furthermore, the statement said the CDPF remains dedicated to building trust, fostering positive relationships, and strengthening partnerships within the school communities.
Well done CDPF.
This hamlet is one of the areas that still has some old school charms that needs preserving and the police presence can only strengthen such resolve. The community is unique Dominican in that it is generally Bata-Kalinigo (mixed Kalinago and Black) living in near perfect harmony with each other. Sadly, they have also been one of the most neglected and disrespected community.
Again, Kuddos to Chief Corbette and his leadership command staff for reshaping policing in Dca. History will record you as the best Chief ever albeit your initial error… (they can and should be forgiven). Carbon and Valarie must be scratching their heads now
. I hope Ag.Cpl. Earl is confirmed soon.
Kudos CDPF! This is the way we are going to produce a new mentality in the Police Force. Police constables would be further reminded of how ordinary Dominicans live and work, so that they would continue seeing themselves as part of the people, not members of a privileged group. This kind of activity helps to prevent police officers from developing superior attitudes and to convince civilians that the Police, alongside its usual functions, could also contribute to the country’s economic advancement!
Thank you officer, constant patrol is key to effective police, public relation.
