UPDATE: Fatal Shooting incident near Bath Estate Bridge

A shooting incident occurred on River Street earlier today, near its junction with Emshall Road and Valley Road, opposite Alliance Française, resulting in one death and two injuries. The incident involved three male individuals who were reportedly waiting on the side of the road just before the Bath Estate Bridge, preparing to board a bus to go to work.

According to reliable sources, the victims are Curtison Charles, a male adult from Silver Lake; Jeanyves Bruno, a 26-year-old male from Canefield; and Maclet Dorceli, a Haitian national residing at Castle Comfort. Charles and Bruno were employed at the Cable Car Project in Laudat, while Dorceli was working on a hotel development in the same area.

It was reported that a grey car drove by and opened fire in the direction of the three men. Bruno was struck multiple times—on the left side of his chest, left thigh, and left arm—and was pronounced dead at 8:40 AM by Dr. Rena Alcendor. The other two victims, Charles and Dorceli, sustained injuries; Charles was hit in the left calf, and Dorceli received a gunshot wound to his left elbow.

Both are currently receiving medical treatment at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital.

The police are investigating the matter.

20years ago we planted an Evil tree and now the branches of that evil tree has expanded and bore evil seeds throughout the length and breath of Dominica and everything we see happening in Dominica today is as a result of that evil seed we planted
My deepest sympathy to those who mourn and speedy recovery to those dressing gun shots wound

I acknowledge and appreciate your passion against this monster called crime. What I don’t appreciate is for you to refer to people as codkroaches. I have seen and heard many kernel testimonies of career criminals who have turned their wayward life around ad becae productive members of society once given a fair opportunity to do better. Not all miscreants are irredeemable.

Most of us believe the Bible as God’s word. Well proverbs 29:2 is plain and simple and it reads “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.”
You see the last part? Dominicans are always mourning so isn’t it clear that the wicked ruling?

The person called MEME is right. What do the law abiding citizens do? Cower in fear? Is the CDPF is alive? They install road blocks and search for guns when the opposition has planned a simple event. Other than that, those political idiots dont care, neither is SKERRIT or BLACKMORE.
Who else can you call upon to come to the help of the law abiding population?

The only thing that Roosevelt run well in Dominica is CORRUPTION. He runs all other things – parliament, police force, economy, the whole civil service into the ground. That is factually correct!

It is as if St. Lucia and Dominica have a race to the bottom. Seriously, crime in Dominica is out of control. The missile pelting officers are only good at burgeoning unarmed, peaceful protesters with rubber bullets, teargas, stones, batons. The real criminals get a free pass. Oxymoronic !

      July 8, 2025

Ironically the fact that they CAN’T shoot is the reason why the person that was shot was completely innocent. What a dumb thing to say. How about we shouldn’t have thugs shooting at people in the first place

Dominicans cannot rely on luck. They have to put well thought out strategic plans in ace to stop this existential threat.

    July 8, 2025

The citizenry of the country need to blame Blackmore and Skerrit for not trying to protect them from a looming crisis of unlicensed gun related deaths.
Skerrit, the LAZY and inveterate liar, bragged in a press conference, how his government will NOT allow unlicensed guns to take over the place. Did he give the penalty for those caught?
Is it a measly EC$10 000.00, which cant even buy a living room set? The criminals must be in glee.
How much more blood must be spilled before we see action by law abiding citizens?. Skerrit is the only Prime Minister in CARICOM, who goes after opposition parliamentarians to see if he can jail them, but he does not border with criminals with guns.
The MILLIONS you spend to jail those you do not like, should be spent on our safety Chi-Chi.
Come on Dominicans, this GLOATER must be voted out Lock Stock and BARREL.
He does not care about us!
    What a WICKED SOUL!

Well, blame Skerro because he is Blackmore boss and does not see it fit to send him packing. Blackmore is sick and needs to go take care of himself but nooooooo, he loves the money a power so he will die on the job before he quits. The man used to be sharp and solid but recently he start looking like a Khalalee. Corbette may have his ways but let him loose on those criminals and believe me, in 6 moths Dca will be a paradise. He has a lot of Dayfoe but when it comes to policing he don’t mix matters.

@MEME, did you encourage people to turn in their unlicensed fire arms when the government had the amnesty? The problem is not Skeritt or Blackmore it is people like you who see every issue in Dominica through political colored glasses.
