Thirteen-year-old Jeamaique Sablon, who Dominica News Online (DNO) reported yesterday was missing for the past three days has been located in the neighbouring island of Guadeloupe.
This news was confirmed by his mother Leenisha Mitchel, who told our reporter that she has since spoken to her son, and from all reports, he seems to be doing okay.
In a previous interview, the Kings Hill resident made known that her son who is a second-form student of the Goodwill Secondary School (GSS) was last seen by family members on the morning of September 23, 2022, sometime after 11 am.
Mitchel also revealed that the two friends/schoolmates, who were also allegedly missing, have also been found in Guadeloupe with her son.
Due to the ongoing investigation by the police, more information on this matter could not have been disclosed. However, DNO will provide more information on this matter once it becomes available.
However, DNO has learnt that another 15-year-old boy who had travelled to Guadeloupe along with Sablon, has also been found.
Lets pray for God s blessings on ALL our children big and small, so that, they will think clearly and make the right decisions. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
As a Kings Hill native, I am a living testament that a young boy can easily get lost in the shuffles in a neighborhood where children raising children has long been a common occurence. My experience in that type of environment is that children see, hear and experience things that rob them of their due innocence at an early age.
My disappearing acts back in the day were not as extreme as this young man’s. My partners and I would normally go awol for the better part of non-school days but would always find our tails home before curfew. Thank God, not a single APB was ever broadcast for me or my peers as the fear of tamberine tree whip kept us in line.
My prayers go out to this young man and his family who are facing a more serious and dangerous crisis which requires some deep soul searchiing, professional intervention and divine help.
How did these teenagers find themselves in Guadeloupe? What did they go there to do? Were they recruited by PM to attend his mobile college in Guadeloupe? No matter how these teenagers found themselves in Guadeloupe I wouldn’t be surprised that some BIG boy is behind it
What’s wrong with these boys, a set of strange guys
Dominica have some insane guys
What is wrong with these guys, strange guys
We usually make the most mistakes at this stage in our lives ( adolescence). To see is human. Let us hope that these three youthful individuals are given the counselling and guidance they need.
Disparaging and being overly harsh to them is unhelpful. Let’s all hope that this experience for them will be a life changing one for the better.
There is no damn difference between drug dealers and passport dealers. Such dealers always look for the weak and vulnerable to do their dirty work for them while they make their millions. Well now Skerrit and Blackmore legalize Marijuana for our young boys could get involved early
The last sentence that came out your mouth is pure sh……stop involving weed in your nonsense…..right now is crack, cocaine, gold, diamond that is the market now weed is to just calm mfs so they dont go off and kill ….. like u who dont really know sh..
‘Stick a French man for his fresh Gilera’
What all you expect? These youth are seeing people who study hard and have university degree, sit down brokes begging government. You expect them to follow the same path?
Long I saying, change the curriculum, teach them investing, digital businesses, entreprenuership etc – things that can actually make money so they can see their way. We still teaching them square root, pyhthagoras & Christopher Columbus discover us – and expect them to act blind, like they can’t see those before them that took that path, then wondering why they going into crime!
Either way, glad the youth man safe!
Pure nonsense you talking. I agree the country hard but is that an excuse to commit crime? Some people have big jobs and still committing crime so what’s your excuse for that?
Mention – there is a difference between saying ‘di country hard’ and saying ‘youth are not being prepared to understand and exploit potential economic opportunities’.
This is not a convo for someone with a limited thought process like you. Some of us think outside the box and understand that with the right education/knowledge/mentoring anybody can build wealth, regardless of how hard the environment is perceived to be.
I am talking about ‘miseducation’ you talking about justifying behaviour – two different convos, this one may be above your paygrade!
Hello and good afternoon my people. This mother don’t have any control over her son. He’s flashing gang signs and he’s traveling to another island without an adult and he’s mother doesn’t know anything. Lady take control of your child before he becomes a ward of the state and a burden on society before it’s to late. Did those children went through customs and dealt with an immigration officer, if not then how they left the island. Lady stop your crap and control your child both you and his father.
How could you be so out of place to judge that Mother as having no control of her son? Do you have the facts of the matter? We know our teenagers these days, some grow up under tight control and yet they rebel, others are raised by the street and they rebel anyways, each case has to be judged on its own merits….

Hello and good afternoon my people. How is this mother exercising any control of her son when he left Dominica and travel to another island without her knowing. She also provided a photo of him to DNO in which he is flashing gang sign. Please get your head out of the sand and stop making excuses for this lady and his father.
Refer to Tony’s comment because you make no sense.
Clearly she has no control over him ,other wise he wouldn’t be there and she here. Seems like most Dominicans aren’t evidence driven.
if she did, he would not have done such a thing. Its not even summer time. He has school to go to. If it was me id know not to come back before my parents kill me.

Hello and good afternoon my people. Please show me where in this article this lady exercise any control over her son. She came to us via DNO asking us to help her locate her son who was missing for three day. She provided a photograph of him displaying gang signs. He was then located on another Island. So how she showed she has control of her son. Why don’t you go to Kings Hill meet the mother and son then take him to the old market on Saturday morning. Purchase a good leather belt ,take down his pants and weep his behind in front of everyone and maybe that will straighten him up. You are making excuses for a young child that’s heading in the wrong direction.
Very well said Tony.
Too many times parents ignore the signs before their eyes and pretend all is well with their perfect child. A 13yrs old boy flashing gang sign in his school uniform should have been a BIG warning sign to his mother. I am sure that’s not the first time she is seeing this particular picture. Now he finds himself in Guada, voluntarily or involuntarily should be no surprise to the mother or other family members. If the police take their time and dig a little deeper they will get “the rest of the story”.
It’s always after bad things happen they call Matt of go on TV crying saying he was a nice, loving and very well behaved child. The police should arrest her behind under the “Children And Young Persons Act”. I am sure they can find a crime there such as Child Neglect. So I join you in saying; ” Lady take control of your child before he becomes a ward of the state and a burden on society before it’s to late”.
This makes absolutely no sense whatsoever!
One believe that anyone exiting the island would have to exist either via the Port of Roseau, Portsmouth, or one of the two municipal Airports, where their departure would be documented by immigration.
Under any other circumstances that would be illegal and organized smuggling.
In this case I smell kidnapping “abduction.”
My question is how can a child leave their parents home and travel out of the if an adult is not involved, who paid their travel expenses, and upon arrival in Guadeloupe did the children go through immigration?
Some form criminality is involved.
You are smelling your socks… I warnedd you about these smelly sock
One believe that anyone exiting the island would have to exist either via the Port of Roseau,…. Your words. What do you mean Exist?… Don’t you know people go through back doors? These young people are smarter than you. Mother is to be blamed. A 13 yr old. MAGWASAH…….That’s a baby out of control… MASH!!!!
What do you expect. Thug life.
They should be included in the Olympic swimming competition. Very good swimmer. Did they get help? I want to know.
Well, this did not happen spontaneously by itself I belief. This takes planning and finance to say the least and I doubt his parents or parent were not in on the plan. How did they get to Guadeloupe for instance, if they did not fly it must have been by boat. How did they pass immigration here and in Guadeloupe? Or did they have travel documents. Did they did take any clothes, money. All this takes organising but people are not talking you see. Do you blame them. How many of us would escape from here if they could? Something is drastically wrong in this paradise of ours it’s in the air all around us and I can feel it.

This boy can either use his willingness to take huge risk to be a very successful entrepreneur, or he could turn out to be society’s worst nightmare. He has what it takes. It all depends on how he chooses to use his talents.
What they say? Dominica is sewo and Guadelope is Euro?
That is something else.
Something is missing and that is a job for the police.Jeamaique is a French name, what connection does he have in Guadeloupe?Mitchell spoke to her son how,did he call her or did she call him?He is doing OK by all reports.Reports from who, reports from what source?Hope if possible DNO can answer those questions, when they get more information.
How did they get to Guada? Did they swim there? Did they take the ferry and if so how did they pass boarder control? We’re they taken by one of these illegal fishing vessels? I’m waiting for answers.
Thank you Father for taking care of your children.
we need better options for children to not want to do these things. Do like the French and make job placements for experience points a mandatory thing for high schoolers. Come on man!!!
Great news! Thanks be to God!
You are right ,you seem to forget Marijuana was legalized on the advice of UWP,when your blue ahole leader returned from Colorado,You seem to believe the majority of Dominicans forget.
What a wow baby
Those boys not easy papa
A little pwel causing that? Mama
