The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force (CDPF) is actively investigating a homicide and an attempted murder following a shooting incident which occurred at about 6:30 PM in an area known as Washington Block in Roseau on Sunday.
According to police reports, two young men were shot and transported to the Dominica China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) were being treated for gunshot wounds to their upper torso.
Reports further state that one of the men identified as Kimon Emmanuel has succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at about 9:06 PM.

But isn’t this corrupt administration seeing that it’s high time that they make their voices heard, re the crime situation on island?
Guess they are too bysy selling passports to get a small circle of people rich?
Dominica is fast becoming a failed state and undoubtedly on the brink of colapse…
Slowly but surely we are catching up with the rest of the Caribbean. 👏 /s.
And like all the other clueless leaders in the region, someone is going to make a statement “condemning the incident”; and “appeal” to the perpetrators to “solve their problems peacefully.”
It’s either these leaders have no political cojones to tackle crime, or like I said before, just fc@king clueless.
Young people, more particularly young men, are becoming an endangered species in Dominica. A young lady was murdered a few days ago now a young man. 2025 is gearing up to be one of the bloodiest years in the history of Dominica.
As the blood letting continue unabated, after twenty years of Roosevelt’s mismanagement of the country, there is an absence of a strategic crime plan. The only plan that is firmly in place is a self-enrichment one.
Where leadership is lacking everything is lacking. Dominica is in serious peril.
P.S. DNO – Can you state the murder/homicide count for this year and compare it to the last five years? We want to know how crime is trending.
