UPDATE: Police investigating road fatality on E.O. Leblanc Highway

Police have announced that they are investigating a motor vehicle accident which claimed the life of 38 year-old Brian Peter of Pottersville over the weekend.

According to Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), Inspector John Carbon, the accident occurred at about 11:00 pm on Friday, April 9.

“Brian was a passenger along with Kiwada Shaw on Suzuki Escudo registration # PV184 which was being driven by Nafcot Shaw of Pottersville. The accident occurred when the vehicle was travelling south in the vicinity of Maximum Building Supplies at Fond Cole on E.O Leblanc Highway when the driver lost control and collided with an embankment on the Eastern side of the road,” Carbon reported.

He said all the occupants of the vehicle were transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Dominica China Friendship Hospital where they were examined by a medical doctor and Peter was pronounced dead.

Carbon added that the driver and other occupants were not seriously hurt.

He said a post mortem will be convened into the death of the deceased Brian Peter.
