The University of the West Indies (UWI) Global Campus in Dominica is set to hold its annual Graduation Recognition Ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2025.

As per a press release, the event is scheduled for Thursday, February 5, 2026, and will take place at the Truth & Grace Fellowship Global Church starting at 10:00 AM.

According to Dr. Kimone Joseph, the Head of UWI Global Campus, “We host the Recognition of Graduates Ceremony each year as a complement to the Virtual Graduation Ceremony that is organized for the whole Campus. This provides Dominica’s graduating class with the opportunity to share the momentous accomplishment with family, friends and well-wishers.”

This year, the event will feature remarks from Dr. David Johnson, a practicing medical doctor, who will serve as the keynote speaker.

Additionally, Ms. Nikita Shillingford will deliver the Outstanding Graduate Speech on behalf of the graduating students. The ceremony will be overseen by Dr. Francis Severin, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the UWI Global Campus.

A total of 48 students will participate, including 41 undergraduates and 7 graduates. The Dominica cohort demonstrated outstanding academic performance, with 51% of undergraduate students earning First Class Honours and 60% of graduate students achieving Distinctions.

The leading undergraduate students from Dominica are Ms. Nikita Shillingford, studying General Management Studies; Ms. Kerissa St. Rose, pursuing International Management; and Ms. Christine Maxime, also in International Management. Among the graduate students, the top performers are Mr. Kirk Edwards, specializing in Instructional Technology & Design; Ms. Maureen Valmond, in Project Management; and Mrs. Niomi Remy-Laurent, completing a Master of Education in Teaching & Learning with Emerging Technologies.
