The University of the West Indies (UWI) Global Campus is set to present its 2026 Annual Report and hold its Council Meeting on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

A UWI press release shared that the event will commence at 10:00 AM Eastern Caribbean Time, which is 9:00 AM in Jamaica and 8:00 AM in Belize.

In alignment with tradition, the gathering will be conducted entirely online, allowing Council members and stakeholders from across the Caribbean to participate remotely.

The meeting will be presided over by the Honourable Ambassador Dr. June Soomer, Chair of the UWI Global Campus Council. Key figures such as Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice-Chancellor of UWI; Dr. Francis O. Severin, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Principal of the UWI Global Campus; Dr. Emily Dick-Forde, Deputy Principal; along with other senior management team members of the Global Campus, will address the audience during the open public segment.

Central to the event will be the Principal’s Annual Report, themed “Paving Global Pathways: Rooted in Caribbean Excellence.”

During his presentation, Dr. Severin will review the achievements of the Campus throughout the 2024/2025 academic year, emphasizing its performance and notable successes. He will also highlight how the Campus continues to broaden access to top-tier education while maintaining a strong foundation in Caribbean values, culture, and intellectual traditions.

The Council gathering will assemble representatives from regional ministries of education, The University of the West Indies, the UWI Alumni Association, and the Guild of Students, all participating via Zoom. The public part of the session will be accessible to invited guests, members of the regional media, and the general public.

It will be broadcast live through www.uwitv.global, UWItv’s FLOW EVO cable channels, and the BLUU Mobile App. After the presentations, media representatives will have the opportunity to ask questions.

In the private portion of the meeting, Council members will review and discuss several important documents, including the Audited Financial Statements, the Audit Committee Report, the Student Guild Statement, and the UWI Global Campus Alumni Report.

Discussions will also focus on how the Campus is utilizing its resources and forming partnerships to expand educational access, foster regional and international collaboration, and deliver transformative learning experiences grounded in Caribbean excellence.
