Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Hilary Beckles will deliver his official report to the University Council, covering the 2024/2025 academic year.   The University of the West Indies governance calendar event is set for Friday, May 8, 2026, when audiences are invited to tune in to UWItv for a live broadcast.

The presentation is expected to outline key developments, institutional performance, and the strategic direction of the regional university, said a UWI release.

The report highlights the university’s ongoing efforts to advance its strategic priorities, including building institutional resilience, preparing for future challenges, and strengthening its influence both regionally and internationally.

Recognized as the highest governing authority within the UWI system, the University Council is responsible for overseeing the institution’s administrative and business affairs, as well as appointing senior leadership. The Council is chaired by Chancellor Dodridge Miller, who presides over its deliberations and decision-making processes.

The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Eastern Caribbean time (AST) and 9:00 AM Jamaica time (EST). Viewers can watch the proceedings live via www.uwitv.global or on UWItv through FLOW EVO cable channels.
