Vehicle of missing LGBTQ activist in Antigua found burnt-out

The police in Antigua and Barbuda have located the vehicle belonging to the missing LGBTQ activist, Orden Passo David.

On Saturday, February 15, at approximately 1 PM, law enforcement officials meticulously combed dense bushes near the Pares Secondary School. Their efforts led to the discovery of a charred Honda Fit, unmistakably identified as David’s car.

Despite this critical finding, there remains no sign of the missing man, prompting authorities to intensify their search efforts. The vehicle has since been transported to the Police Headquarters, where forensic teams are expected to conduct further investigations to gather vital clues.

Surveillance footage has shed light on David’s last known moments, showing him exiting a bustling Market Street casino around 11:30 PM on January 25.

He was wearing a striking bright red vest complemented by grey shorts. Concern among locals continues to grow, with many expressing fears that David may have fallen victim to foul play, amplifying the urgency of the ongoing investigation. The community remains hopeful for answers as the search progresses.

These tiny rocks scattered in the Caribbean sea like Antigua should be able to have a high solve rate of crime because of size. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Why? The police forces are often inadequately resourced, highly politicized, ill-trained and corrupt to the core.

Antigua seems to have more people disappearing in thin air than the Bermuda Triangle. This is quite frightening.

There isn’t much outrage from civil society so this trend continues. These disappearances are worthy of anger. These disappearances should stir strong outrage and anger that drive the government, police and citizens to action.
