DOMLEC has reported an accident in Roger which affected one of its poles and is causing a power cut in several sections of the island.
Below is a statement sent out via their Facebook page:
Good Morning,
DOMLEC is aware that a number of communities were affected by an unplanned outage. This was due to a large truck which struck an HV Pole in Roger Canefield.
Initially, customers along the West Coast from Canefield to Jimmit as well as further inland rom Canefield to Belles, Wet Area and Layou were affected.
Power has been restored to most of these areas. To replace the pole however, from 8th street to Roger has been isolated. As such these areas will remain without power until the pole has been replaced.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.
