The outrageous behaviour of the ‘police’ is unsurprising. This is precisely the action of holidays thugs on the street. The rogues know that the more hostile and brutal they interact with the protesters, the more likely they are to gain an extra stripe or be rewarded with some sort of promotion.
Nothing the despotic ruler likes more than witnessing members of the UWP being brutalized or jailed. This gives him superlative pleasure.
