Vilma George, LLB, LEC, Attorney-at-Law, was admitted to the Bar on January 14, 2025, in Chambers at the High Court in Dominica. George hails from the community of Marigot.
Reflecting on her journey to the Bar, George remarked: “I am immensely proud and above all grateful. I thank the Lord and express my deepest gratitude to my support system. My husband, for his tremendous support and encouragement, and to my family members for their encouragement.
The feeling of completing law school felt amazing because I felt like my hard work had finally paid off. I am indeed honored to be part of this noble profession and promise to uphold the ethical principles of the profession.”
If you are from Marigot, I will limit my comments, except to say you have joined a profession which rewards starvation salary rather than wealth as in ” money.”
There are too many lawyers in Dominica where the population is less than fifty thousand people. Even if every single person in Dominica had the need for a lawyer, each one of you would still end up with less than a dozen clients.
That is a waste of time profession in Dominica!
I wish you well anyway!
