WCMF@25 radio series by Creole Heartbeat keeps going with two veteran interviews coming up

As the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) celebrates its 25th anniversary, Creole Heartbeat says it will continue its popular radio series, “WCMF @ 25: From Idea to World-Class Festival.”

The series, according to a press release from the company, “is dedicated to chronicling the history, vision, and cultural significance of the World Creole Music Festival. Through engaging conversations with founders, artists, and cultural ambassadors, the series provides an intimate look at how WCMF has grown from a local idea into a globally recognized celebration of Creole culture.”

It reported that the upcoming episodes will feature engaging discussions with two prominent figures from Dominica’s cultural landscape, highlighting the festival’s development and its influence on Caribbean music and heritage.

It also announced that on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at noon, Ambassador Leroy “Wadix” Charles will host a live conversation with Val Cuffy on Kairi FM. Cuffy, recognized for his vibrant involvement in event promotion and entertainment, will share his insights into WCMF’s history, its significance, and the festival’s lasting impact on Dominica’s cultural expression.

The following day, Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:50 AM, the focus will turn to Ophelia Marie, affectionately known as Dominica’s “Lady of Song,” as she joins Wadix on Q95 FM. Ophelia will reflect on her experiences as one of the trailblazing artists who have contributed to shaping the festival’s musical identity over the past quarter-century.
