WEATHER (6:00 AM, Sept 02): Scattered showers, isolated thunderstorms expected; people in at-risk areas urged to be on the alert

A high-pressure system is the dominant feature across the area. Bands of low to mid-level clouds drifting across the region will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with frequent scattered showers and the chance of isolated thunderstorms during the period. Residents and motorists in areas at risk of flooding, landslides and falling rocks should remain alert and exercise caution.

Sea conditions: Slight to moderate over the next 24 to 48 hours, with wave heights up to 3 feet along the west coast and up to 5 feet along the east coast.
