WEATHER (6:00 PM, August 5): A tropical wave is affecting the region

Moisture and instability associated with a tropical wave will continue affecting the island tonight and Tuesday.

This is expected to generate cloudy skies with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. People in areas prone to flooding, landslides, and falling rocks are advised to be alert and exercise caution.

A reduction in Saharan dust haze concentration can be expected this week. However, people with respiratory sensitivities are advised to continue taking the necessary precautions to avoid complications.

Moderate seas can be expected in open water with waves peaking near 8ft. A gradual reduction to near 7ft is expected on Tuesday. A small craft warning for above normal swells remains in effect until 6am Tuesday. All users of the sea are advised to be alert and to exercise caution.

Forecast for Tonight and Tomorrow

Mostly cloudy, slightly hazy and breezy with scattered showers which could be moderate to heavy at times with isolated thunderstorms.
