Lingering moisture following the passage of a strong tropical wave will be affecting the area during the morning. The system now has a low chance of developing into a tropical depression as it moves into the Caribbean Sea during today. Light to moderate passing showers and gusty winds are expected across Dominica mainly during the early morning period with a gradual reduction in shower activity expected as the day progresses. The Flood Watch has been discontinued as of 6am due to the reduced probability of flooding. However, people in areas prone to flooding, landslides, and falling rocks should remain on alert.
Moderate to rough seas are anticipated today, with wave heights expected to peak near 7 feet along the west coast and up to near10 feet along the east coast. All users of the sea are strongly advised to take action to safeguard life and property. Sea-bathers should stay out of the water. Motorists and those traversing coastal roadways should exercise caution.

So DNO is reporting of a Flood Watch being lifted but there is no actual report of the Flood Watch being given.
Very poor journalism.
ADMIN: Incorrect and blatantly false information.
We reported on the likely hood of a flood watch being issued here: https://dominicanewsonline.com/news/homepage/news/officials-on-public-to-remain-apprised-take-weather-reports-very-seriously/
We also published the weather update indicating the flood watch was in effect here: https://dominicanewsonline.com/news/homepage/news/weather-update-600-pm-august-24-tropical-wave-has-low-chance-of-becoming-depression/
Good news! God is good all the time and all the time God is good.
