World Prayer Day to be celebrated on March 6, 2020

The World Day of Prayer is a special day celebrated on the first Friday in March each year. This year it falls on Friday 6th March, 2020.

The World Day of Prayer Celebration is a worldwide movement of Christian women that began in the U.S. and Canada in the 19th Century and became worldwide in 1927.

Every year, the worship service focuses on a different country and a specific theme. This year, the program materials for 2020 are being designed by the women of Zimbabwe, under the theme “Rise! Take your Mat and Walk”. Various aspects of the Zimbabwean culture will be highlighted during the service.

In Dominica, World Day of Prayer is being celebrated at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Friday 6th March, 2020 at 6. 00 p.m.

A cordial invitation is extended to all to attend the celebration as we unite in prayer, action and solidarity.

Prayers, christianity and religion have done absolutely nothing for Black and indigenous peoples but pacify while Europeans grab land and inflict misery and Euro-roman pain………

Proverbs 14:34 New King James Version (NKJV)
    34 Righteousness exalts a nation,
But sin is a [a]reproach to any people.

Matthew 6:24 King James Version (KJV)
24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Hope you all remember to pray on carnival Monday and Tuesday 2021, better yet make those days National days of prayer.
    God bless.

Revelation 3:15-17 New International Version (NIV)
15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.

This is the words of my mind for today’s “World Prayer”

“Out of the depths we are calling to You, O Lord; hear our voice! Let Your ears attend to our supplications” for Your healing Grace.

O God, You have been our strength in the past years; our hope is reliance in You for years to come. We ask You to give us shelter from the stormy blasts of Life, and we thank You for Your promise of Eternal Rest in Love our future Home with You

O God You can see, hear, and You know that this World, where You have stationed us, Your people, is in a state of destructive chaos, who can we turn to, if not You?

O Lord, in this “groaning tent” which is our physical frame, we cannot survive without Your Grace of Love, which must be the Life of our Soul–the only Life we have. That is why we are calling for Your mercy and compassion; O God of Life. We, Your people need Your peace and rest in Love. Please reach out to us, in the name Christ Jesus. Amen!

At this point I am still not sure why people think prayer works.. smh… Maybe after Two more Irma and two more Marias and one more term of Skerrit they will finally realize that the whole “god” thing is fairy tale..

@KeepingItreal, based on your comment above, your name cannot be you. And you should be concerned about that state of your mind, for it is the most carnal state of mind I will ever perceive.

Do you know how boldly you have declared that you are one of God’s enemies? And I doubt that you have ever prayed, to come to find our that prayer doesn’t work.

My friend, God is Spirit in Love and Holiness; and those who desire to relate to Him must be prepared to go through the training and discipline of their mind, to prepare them for the walk in the Spirit with God, who will lead them into the perfection of His Love.

But people like you, who continue to blaspheme His holiness, with your disgusting boldness, are provoking His wrath, without preparing for His pitch; but when He pitches, He goes for the destructive “strike out”.

You need to be more humble because you don’t want to face a pitch of God’s wrath; don’t say you were not warned.

I will not be celebrating prayer on Friday but rather I will use Friday to pray for Skerrit. I will earnestly pray that he does not go down with coronavirus, since he is at high risk because of his affiliation with his friends from China, Iran, Malaysia, N Korea and just about the countries that have been hit the worse with that virus. So I will use Friday to pray hard for skerrit.

  6. Deliver us Lord
    March 4, 2020

I will use Friday March 6 to pray that the Lord would deliver Dominica from the Evil one that has infected the entire country with his corruption.
