Youth Ministry: Summer Day Camp details altered, following successful launch with record enrollment

The Ministry of Youth Development has announced the official start of Summer Day Camp 2025 across communities throughout Dominica, marking a significant milestone with enrollment numbers exceeding initial expectations. A media statement from the Ministry of Youth Development said that the strong turnout underscores the increasing demand among families for safe, engaging, and educational summer programs for children across the island.

According to the Ministry, youth officers, NEP mentors, and community volunteers have been working diligently to ensure that every child is welcomed into a lively environment filled with fun, entertainment, and learning opportunities. Despite the larger-than-anticipated participation, the teams have demonstrated flexibility and dedication, adjusting operations to meet the increased demand.

To accommodate the surge in campers, explained the release, several logistical adjustments have been implemented. These include modifications to transportation routes, meal planning, and venue arrangements, all aimed at maintaining safety, comfort, and the quality of the programming.

In response to these developments and to allow sufficient time for mentors, children, and schools to rest and prepare for the upcoming academic term, the Ministry of Youth Development has announced a revised schedule for the camp’s conclusion.

The camp will now end on Friday, August 1, 2025, with daily sessions concluding at noon. Lunch will be served from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, and students will depart by 1:00 PM via the designated bus system.

The Ministry expressed gratitude to all staff, volunteers, parents, and community partners whose efforts have contributed to the success of this summer initiative.
