Hurricane Iota has strengthened into a Category 5 storm that’s now forecast to deliver “catastrophic winds, life-threatening storm surge and torrential rainfall” to Central America, the National Hurricane Center has said.
Nicaragua and Honduras which were recently battered by category 4 Eta are among the countries expected to receive the full brunt of this monstrous storm. Rainfall may to reach 2 to 3 feet in parts of Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize and Guatemala.
Iota became a Category 2 hurricane late Sunday afternoon. The U.S. National Hurricane Center hard originally warned it would likely be an extremely dangerous Category 4 storm when it approached the Central America mainland late Monday.
I hope everybody can find a shelter after the last hurricane
