Time to get away from the tackiness. That interior decoration good to throw. What happen the country dont have money? All you get the cheapest lookin cloth, just hang and tie. a kind of a shiney satin. Awa wi doc. We have to do better in Dominica. the Public Service Union building is not suitable for formal events. The place needs an extreme face lift. From the walls that need repaining, to the windows that need changing to more modern design, that stage is the same stage for 20 years now, the podium not even the shiney sequenced cloth they throw on it made much of a difference. the place just looking tackey man. Poor lighting, i see they brought lights but made not much of a difference. Regarding wearing the national dress, I doesnt wear that. We are not Independent as a nation by any means. Most times i prefer to wear a shirt with the British or French flag on it. We would have been better off as a people. you have your opinion i have mine.
So, let me be the one to start this mess. It is Independence season. You are attending an Independence celebration. They are honoring people who have contributed to our culture. The least you can do is to dress appropriately. By this I mean, something cultural. You may not be able to afford a full wob dwiyet but try a ting!!
But alas, our cultural dress is for the most part a hand-me-down from estate owners in the days of slavery.
DNO you can do better. You showed me a bunch of pictures which says nothing as to who that person is and what they are receiving the award for. More so they are wearing masks which makes it difficult to identify these people. Come on DNO you can do better
