As if the donor agencies and the majority of Dominicans are as blind and as idiotic like you.Lunatic.
It is unfortunate that the current ruling political party do not see the need to sure up the island in name of resilience. Resilience should be in the format of assessments of the most vulnerable areas in need of fortification (e.g., all the major rivers that displayed its force of nature during Hurricane Maria). Maria was 8 years ago, yet here we are in 2025 and still minimal has been done to effectively address these areas of high risk. We can do better than to just let things go that are clearly important instead of all the political bickering and money spent in areas that do not save lives.
Everyday is something averse in Dominica. It’s either natural or man-made – concrete roof collapse, serious flooding. The people need a respite.
Rivers and villages all over the island are flooded. So what’s this climate resilient nation BS?
Do you understand the meaning of the word ‘resilient’? ….
resilient
/rɪˈzɪlɪənt/
adjective
1.
able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.
Similar:
strong
tough
hardy
quick to recover
quick to bounce back
2.
(of a substance or object) able to recoil or spring back into shape after bending, stretching, or being compressed.
‘Climate resilience’ is just a catch phrase overused by Roosevelt and his minions to impress donor agencies and the gullible.
Dominica is prone to flooding, prone to hurricanes, prone to landslips, prone to corruption, prone to lawlessness, prone to rare diseases. There are no guard rails in place to protect the country and its people from the disastrous ruling autocracy.
